Whether it is quilting, writing or some other form creativity. Each of us receives inspirations from external sources. I received this note from friend (we do grand kid reports ). It inspired me to write the following poem.
"Our grandson spent 45 minutes yesterday playing in his rain coat and boots in the water coming off the roof. He had a marvelous time. Splashing and listening to the rain plopping on his hood. He loves outdoors."
Those days gone by,
Bittersweet tears I cry,
Happy, the children are grown,
Sad, this time has flown.
Little did I know, the moments in the sun,
The time stomping in puddles for fun,
Would be relegated to the back of my mind,
Would be relegated to the back of my mind,
To be retrieved when, myself, alone I find.
It's strange this I remember,
Rainy days in late September,
I was young, maybe about five,
I never felt more alive.
I was drenched and chilled,
With every step I thrilled,
Tilting my head to the sky,
Thinking, this is how G-d cries.
