This is not a garden blog, but you might see an article concerning gardening. It is a blog about me and the cultivation of my life. This is a place where I air my opinions and ideas. There will be stories about what is happening or has happened. I like to write poems, some will be good and some will be bad. I am never bored, I hope you won't find what I write about boring. Thank you for sharing time with me.

THE LOSS OF A FRIEND

My heart beating,
Sun shining, filtered through tears,
Memories of us.
Where was I when time stopped?
There would be no laughter, tears, idle moments shared.
I was taken unawares.
Our friendship had me off guard. Each day you rallied,
your smiles gave life to those around you.
 Bittersweet thoughts of days shared.
I treasure every memory.

THANK YOU FOR SHARING MY LIFE

What has life given to me?
The ability my future to see,
The understanding of what I hear,
The means to tackle the things I fear.

We travel life's road, its twists and turns,
With trepidation and some concerns,
Wondering what we'll encounter along the way,
What we'll be learning on this day.

Tomorrow, will our journey, fulfillment bring,
This date, this time, will sadness be lingering,
Or will someone meet us along the way,
To change our lives this very day.

How many people have you virtually met who have influenced your lives?
How many have given you optimism when you had a defeatist attitude?
How many have you come to know even though you have never met?
How many have encouraged you to be more than you can be?
Today I lost an Internet friend who was all those things to me.
" Knowing" her enriched my life.  Since I became Internet savvy in 1996,
I have had this scenario present its self over and over again.
When a friend passes on the Internet  it is so different from loosing someone you have in your life physically.  How do you mourn them, how do you share your grief with those close to them, and how do you justify that you weren't there?
To my Internet friends,
I want you to know how much you mean to the people you meet.
How much you influence their lives.  Hillary Clinton said, "It takes a village."
 The internet is a village.
