CHANGE OF SEASON

Watching signs, waiting,

Icy winds through leafless trees,

Hawks circling above.

 

Bluebirds returning,

Daffodils, laden with snow.

Hang like golden tears.

 

Leaded skies belie, 

Yesterday, air sweet and clean,

Promise, Earth renewed.
